What if I miss my injection day?

It happens. Here is the rule of thumb:

4 days or less since your missed dose

Take your injection as soon as you remember. Then either keep your original weekly schedule or restart your week from the day you injected, whichever is easier to remember.

More than 4 days

Skip the missed dose entirely and take your next injection on your regular day. Do not try to catch up with extra medication. Doubling up raises your risk of nausea and other side effects without improving results.

Never take two doses at once or within a few days of each other.

Off the medication for 8+ weeks?

If more than 8 weeks have passed since your last tirzepatide injection, do not jump back in at your old dose. Your body needs to readjust, so you restart at the standard starting dose (2.5 mg) and work back up. Message your provider through your Crossing account before restarting so they can confirm the right plan for you.

Why this matters

Tirzepatide works best with steady weekly dosing. One late or skipped dose will not undo your progress, but stacking doses to compensate can make you feel awful. When in doubt, skip and resume, and ask your provider if you are unsure what counts as "in doubt."
