What to do about serious side effects or adverse reactions

Written by Matt Brice

If something feels wrong on tirzepatide, here is exactly what to do.

If it's a medical emergency

Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. That includes severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, signs of pancreatitis, or any symptom that feels life-threatening.

For non-emergency side effects

Message us through the chat on joincrossing.com or from your Crossing account, and tell us:

  • What symptoms you're experiencing

  • When they started

  • Whether you've been able to keep taking your medication

Our team will coordinate with your provider on the right next step. That may include:

  • Lowering your dose

  • Pausing treatment temporarily

  • Cancelling your treatment plan

Common side effects are usually temporary

Nausea, fatigue, and mild stomach discomfort are normal when starting tirzepatide or moving up on your increasing-dose plan. They typically improve within 1-2 weeks at a new dose level. See "Managing common tirzepatide side effects" for practical fixes.

If you want to stop entirely

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Crossing account. Once cancelled, no future orders are placed and no further charges apply. If you've already received medication you can't use, message us and we'll go over your options.
